Construction Methods
How duct bank systems are built.

Excavation & Trench Preparation
Duct bank excavation begins with confirming existing utilities, establishing trench width and depth for the conduit configuration, and preparing a stable bedding condition. Trench protection, dewatering, and spoil management are planned around the surrounding site work so adjacent scopes can continue.
Conduit Placement & Alignment
Conduits are placed on spacers to hold the designed horizontal and vertical separation, then braced against floating during placement. Consistent spacing supports the cable ampacity assumptions in the electrical design, and sweeps, bends, and stub-ups are set to the radius the cable pull requires.
Concrete-Encased Duct Banks
Concrete encasement protects conduits from surface loading and future excavation, and is common under roadways, equipment yards, and substation areas. Reinforcement, encasement dimensions, and any required red-dye concrete are built to the project drawings, with placement staged so the conduit bundle stays true to line and grade.
Direct-Buried & Precast Systems
Not every run requires encasement. Where drawings call for direct-buried conduit with select backfill, or for precast electrical vaults, manholes, and precast duct bank segments, the work is coordinated around delivery, crane access, and set sequencing on site.
Structures, Manholes & Pull Points
Vaults, manholes, handholes, and pull boxes are set to grade at the intervals the cable pulling plan requires. Entries are grouted and sealed, and ring-and-cover elevations are coordinated with final paving, surfacing, or yard rock.
Proofing, Records & Restoration
Before turnover, conduits are proofed and pull tape or rope is installed, and as-built information is captured for the owner's utility records. Backfill is compacted in lifts, surfaces are restored, and the corridor is returned to the condition the project documents require.
