The Winchester 1 & 2 BESS Project is the battery energy storage component of a larger utility-scale solar development in Willcox, Arizona, supporting the continued expansion of energy storage infrastructure within the region.
Rueben Group's scope of work includes survey and layout, helical pile installation and conduit installation for medium-voltage (MV) cable systems serving the energy storage facility. These activities support the civil infrastructure and foundation systems required for the construction and operation of the BESS site.

The Alamo City BESS Project is a 120 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) development in San Antonio, Texas, forming a key component of the region's growing utility-scale energy infrastructure network.
Rueben Group was contracted to deliver the complete civil and foundation scope supporting the development of the BESS facility and associated substation infrastructure. Our work included earthworks, site grading, site development, drainage infrastructure, access road construction, foundation preparation, and substation foundation construction.
A key component of the project involved constructing approximately one mile of access road to provide reliable access to the site. The project also required the installation of a major drainage crossing consisting of six corrugated metal pipes, each approximately 8 feet in diameter, along with engineered concrete headwalls to support a 70-foot creek crossing and manage stormwater flow throughout the site.
Given the site's location with close proximity to a designated 100-year floodplain, drainage design and construction were critical elements of the project. Careful planning and execution of grading, drainage infrastructure, and creek crossing improvements were required to maintain site accessibility and support long-term project performance.
The Alamo City BESS Project demonstrates the integrated civil, foundation, drainage, and site development work required to support utility-scale energy infrastructure, where earthworks, access, and foundation systems play a critical role in successful project delivery.

The Smith BESS Facility is a 125 MW standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located in Royse City, Texas.
Rueben Group was contracted to perform the complete civil and underground scope required to support construction of the facility. Our work included site clearing, earthworks, grading, BESS pad development, drainage infrastructure, water, sewer, storm, and fireline installation, along with two dry bores beneath TX Highway 66 to connect the facility to the municipal water system.
Additional scope included low-voltage, communications, fiber, and fire service conduit installation, grounding systems, Trenwa, concrete paving, landscaping, and supporting substation infrastructure throughout the site.
The project required significant coordination of civil, underground, and electrical infrastructure across the facility while maintaining construction progress and site accessibility. The completed work established the critical site infrastructure necessary to support the installation and operation of the battery energy storage systems and associated substation equipment.
